Most lakes in the area have 10”-13” right now, but this is one of those winters when you can’t assume anything. Be sure to always check ice conditions before making any decisions. Walleyes populations are spread out currently, from 8’ to 20’+. Similar to last week, jigging and deadsticks/bobbers are equally producing ‘eyes. Fish patterns can change from day to day, so it’s best to try both at the same time. Remember, every noise you make is amplified under water. Silent anglers catch more walleyes and crappies, no matter the depth. The Crappie bite is strong right now, and we’re finding them just outside the weedlines in 9’-12’ and they are biting on spoons tipped with wax worms now, in addition to jigs. You’ll find bass and pike in those depths, too. Finally, bright colors are working best for all species. Good luck and stay warm!
