For those who have been fishing in 20+ mph winds this past week, I salute you! I’ve been guiding on a variety of lakes in the area the past few days and here is what I’ve seen. We have been catching walleye in the cabbage in 8’ on a bobber and leech on calm days. On windy days, a jig and minnow have produced eyes in 8’-13’. Crappies are relating to the cabbage as well right now, both in it and outside of it. We have caught big largemouth bass in 8’-13’ on large spinner baits and huge 7” plastic swimbaits. Big pike are roaming in 18’-20 and they’re biting on the same large spinnerbaits and swimbaits as the bass. While some days have been better than others, the fishing is good right now and getting better. I hope you have a chance to hit the water this week and catch some fish. Good luck out there!
